Description:
This
small program transforms your joystick inputs into midi controllers.
It implements a pitch pod, a note pod, a pitch wheel pod and 2
midi control pods.
Axes, buttons and sliders can be freely
assigned to any of those,
allowing you to play your favorite midi
instruments using your Direct Input device.
The Badstick program can also be seen as a DirectX Dinput to midi gate.
Requirements:
- at
least 1 joystick
- at least 1 midi output
- DirectX 8.0 or
higher
- Only tested on Windows XP, but might work under Win9X and
Win2000.
This software is mostly free and comes with no
guaranty of any kind.
It was coded pretty quickly and should note
be relied on.
As an example, I would not recommend using it for
live performance.
Eventually, I will try to bring it to that
level, but I am busy enought for now.

Note
that for 5$, you can unlock pitch range.
This feature allows the
controlled instrument to be played over the full frequency
range.
Just search for "BadStick" on www.shareit.com
to get the unlocking key.
If you are
interested in using BadStick in collaboration with other softwares
such as Cubase, you should
take a look at MIDI YOKE from
www.midiox.com/.
